Add a GetWaitly waitlist to a Teachable page with a custom HTML block — no coding — and validate demand before you record your course.

Teachable is a course and digital-product platform. Before a course opens, the smartest move is a waitlist: prove demand, build an audience, and launch to people who already raised their hand. Teachable pages support custom HTML blocks, so the GetWaitly widget fits right in.

The short answer

Add a Code block (custom HTML) to your Teachable page, paste the two-line GetWaitly snippet, and publish. The waitlist is live in about five minutes.

What you need

  • A GetWaitly account with a waitlist created (the free plan covers 100 subscribers).
  • A Teachable school with a page you can edit.

Step 1 — Copy the embed snippet

In your GetWaitly dashboard, create a waitlist and set its headline, accent color, and font. Open Settings → Widget and copy the snippet:

<script src="https://getwaitly.com/widget.js" defer></script>
<div class="gw-widget" data-waitlist-id="YOUR_WAITLIST_ID"></div>

The widget inherits your waitlist's branding, so it matches your page.

Step 2 — Add it to Teachable

  1. Open the page in the Teachable page editor (or a custom page).
  2. Add a Code / custom HTML block where the form should appear.
  3. Paste both lines from Step 1.
  4. Save and publish.

Step 3 — Test it

Open the live page and submit a test email. Confirm the subscriber appears in your GetWaitly dashboard.

If the form does not render, check that both lines were pasted and the block has enough width.

The fallback: use the hosted page

If custom HTML is not available on your plan, publish GetWaitly's hosted page — a complete signup page served by GetWaitly.

  1. Publish the hosted page at getwaitly.com/w/your-id.
  2. Link a Teachable button to that URL, or embed it in an iframe.

Why a waitlist before a course

  • Validate demand before you record anything.
  • Launch to a warm list instead of an empty cohort.
  • Referral links grow the list while you build.
  • Broadcast emails warm people up before enrollment opens.

What you get

  • A styled signup form matching your accent color and font
  • Optional name, phone, and custom questions
  • Referral links and queue positions (Starter plan and above)
  • Broadcast emails with open and click tracking (Starter and above)
  • Analytics: views, signups, conversion rate, 30-day trend
  • CSV export, so you can move the list into Teachable when you launch

FAQ

Can I add a waitlist to Teachable without coding?

Yes. You paste a snippet into a custom HTML block — no programming. If that block is unavailable, link to the hosted page.

Why is my Teachable embed blank?

Usually a missing line or a zero-height block. Re-paste both lines, give the block height, and if it still fails use the hosted-page iframe.

Where do the signups live?

In your GetWaitly dashboard, not in Teachable. That is deliberate — the list is portable, and you can export it as CSV when you are ready to import students.

Is it free?

Yes. The free plan includes the widget, a hosted page, analytics, and up to 100 subscribers. Referrals and broadcasts start at $5/mo.
