Add a Waitlist to Your Website: Every Platform Guide
Every guide for adding a waitlist to the site, builder, or app you already use — Carrd, Webflow, WordPress, Framer, Shopify, Notion, Bubble, Weebly, Softr, Glide, and AI-built apps.
You have somewhere to put a waitlist — a website, a builder, a no-code app, a store. What you do not have is time to read a separate guide for every platform and work out which method actually works there.
Here is the whole map, plus the one rule that decides which method you use.
The one rule: does your platform run custom JavaScript?
There are two ways to add a GetWaitly waitlist, and your platform picks the method for you.
| Your platform… | Use | Why |
|---|---|---|
| Runs custom JavaScript (most site builders, HTML sites, AI-built apps) | The embeddable widget | The form renders inline on your page, on your domain, matching your branding |
| Sandboxes scripts or has no site (Notion, Bubble, link-in-bio) | The hosted page | GetWaitly serves a full signup page you embed in an iframe or link to |
If you are not sure which camp your platform is in, start with the widget and fall back to the hosted page — each guide below says which to use.

How the widget works (30 seconds)
- Create a waitlist and copy the embed snippet from your dashboard.
- Paste it where the form should appear.
- Publish — signups land in your dashboard.
<script src="https://getwaitly.com/widget.js" defer></script>
<div class="gw-widget" data-waitlist-id="YOUR_WAITLIST_ID"></div>
The widget inherits your waitlist's accent color and font, so it matches the page automatically. It handles validation, dedupe, and spam protection for you.
How the hosted page works (30 seconds)
- Create a waitlist and publish the hosted page.
- Copy the URL (
getwaitly.com/w/your-id). - Embed it in an iframe, or just link to it.
No code, no website required. This is the right method when your platform blocks scripts or you have no site at all.
FAQ
Which platforms cannot run the widget?
Any platform that blocks custom JavaScript — Notion and Bubble are the common ones, plus most link-in-bio tools. Use the hosted page there instead.
Do I need a website to use GetWaitly?
No. The hosted page is a complete signup page GetWaitly publishes for you. Embed the widget only if you want the form on your own domain.
Is adding a waitlist free?
Yes. The free plan includes the widget, the hosted page, analytics, and up to 100 subscribers, with no credit card. Referrals and email broadcasts start at $5/mo.
Can I move my waitlist between platforms?
Yes. Your waitlist and subscribers live in GetWaitly, not in the platform. Change the embed on the new site and your list and data stay put.
