How to Add a Waitlist to Glide (Embed or Link)
Glide does not run custom JavaScript, so add a GetWaitly waitlist with the hosted page — embedded with a Web Embed component or linked from a button.
Glide turns a spreadsheet or table into an app-like experience — no code, no design work. It is a great way to prototype. What it is not is a place to run custom JavaScript, which changes how you add a waitlist.
Because Glide apps do not execute custom scripts, the GetWaitly widget cannot run inside them. The fix is simple: use GetWaitly's hosted page, which Glide can embed or link to.
The short answer
Publish GetWaitly's hosted page, then either embed it with a Web Embed component or link to it from a button. No code, no script — just a URL. Total time: about two minutes.
Why not the widget script?
The GetWaitly embed widget relies on a script tag. Glide apps render from data and components, not from arbitrary HTML and JavaScript, so that script has nowhere to run. The hosted page sidesteps this: it is a complete signup page served by GetWaitly, so Glide can display it in a web view without running any of your code.
Option 1 — Embed the hosted page
- Publish your hosted page. In your GetWaitly dashboard, open the waitlist and publish the hosted page. Set your headline, description, accent color, and font. Your page lives at:
https://getwaitly.com/w/YOUR_WAITLIST_ID
- Add a Web Embed component in Glide and point it at that URL. Glide renders the waitlist form inline in your app.
- Give it height. Forms need room — if the component looks cramped, switch to the link option below.
Option 2 — Link to the hosted page
Embedding a form in a small component is often awkward on mobile. A link is cleaner:
- Add a button or an action to your Glide screen.
- Set it to open the hosted page URL.
The signup happens on GetWaitly's polished page in its own view, and submissions land in your dashboard.
Step 3 — Test it
Open the published Glide app and submit a test email. Confirm the subscriber appears in your GetWaitly dashboard with the right queue position.
What you get from the hosted page
- A styled signup form matching your accent color and font
- Optional name, phone, and custom questions
- Referral links and queue positions (Starter plan and above)
- Broadcast emails with open and click tracking (Starter and above)
- Analytics: views, signups, conversion rate, 30-day trend
- CSV export, so you can move the list into your Glide data source later
FAQ
Can I embed the GetWaitly widget in Glide?
Not the script-based widget — Glide does not run custom JavaScript. Use the hosted page, embedded with a Web Embed component or linked from a button.
Does the Glide embed collect emails directly?
Yes. The embedded hosted page is a real GetWaitly form. Submissions land in your waitlist dashboard with referrals and analytics, exactly as they would on any other site.
Why is my Glide web embed blank or short?
Glide gives web embeds a limited height. If the form is cut off, use the link option instead — it is usually better on mobile anyway.
Is it free?
Yes. The free plan includes the hosted page, analytics, and up to 100 subscribers. Referrals and broadcasts start at $5/mo.
